About TopoTargetTopoTarget (OMX: TOPO) is a biotech company dedicated to finding "Answers for cancer".
The Company is focused on the development and commercialisation of improved treatments for cancer patients, and other cancer-related disorders. TopoTarget has a marketed product in both Europe and the US and a broad late stage clinical pipeline containing eight products.
TopoTarget was formed in 2000 in Copenhagen, and is headquartered in Denmark with subsidiaries in the US, Switzerland, Germany and the UK. The company completed a successful IPO on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Copenhagen in 2005. TopoTarget was founded and is run by clinical cancer specialists, and combines years of hands-on clinical experience with an in-depth understanding of the
molecular mechanisms of cancer. Currently the TopoTarget group employs around a 58 people with expertise covering most aspects of drug development, including assay development, screening, biology, medicinal chemistry, preclinical, clinical trials, regulatory affairs, business development and marketing and sales.
The Company’s core scientific expertise lies in the biological mechanisms underlying DNA damage control (topoisomerase II), chromatin replication control and cell cycle regulation.
TopoTarget launched its first product Savene®, in Europe in October 2006 and in October 2007 the product was launched in the US under the name Totect®. Savene®/Totect® is used for the treatment of anthracycline extravasations, an accident that can occur during chemotherapy. For further

TopoTarget has a broad clinical pipeline but is currently focusing on development of belinostat which has shown proof of concept as monotherapy in treating haematological malignancies and positive results in solide tumors where it can be used in combination with full doses chemotherapy. TopoTargets expertice in translational research is utilizing its highly predictive in vivo and in vitro cancer models. TopoTarget is directing its efforts on key cancer targets including HDACi, NAD+, mTOR, FasLigand and topoisomerase IIi.
TopoTarget's pipeline is the combined fruit of in-house efforts and products from acquisitions of companies from Oxford, Frankfurt and Lausanne.
